League Cup Fever - Match Predictions

The 3rd round of the Capital One Cup begins tonight. We've picked our top four matches… and tried to predict the results.

Tonight begins the 3rd round of the capital one cup. Below I Have chosen my top four matches.

Swindon V Chelsea:

This will be interesting viewing tonight with Mourinho having won against Fulham on Saturday, even though Chelsea were struggling slightly with losses against the likes of Basel and Everton. League one Swindon will be hoping to capitalise on Chelsea’s bad run and pull off a big upset tonight plus they have the home advantage.

Man City V Wigan:

Can City achieve what Manchester United did and beat Wigan. City are playing well this season having beaten Manchester United 4-1 on Sunday and find themselves in third as a result.  Wigan are in 11th in the championship with 11 points, having won their last game 2-0 against Ipswich. Coyle’s men will have a lot to do, to try and beat City tonight.

Fulham V Everton:

With Martin Jol losing last weekend and them being 18th in the Premier League Fulham will have a big challenge tonight. Jol will be relying on players like Scott Parker, Tarrabt, Berbatov and Bent to make sure they pull through. Everton on the other hand, know the game will be tough as they are still playing premier league opposition but having beaten Chelsea and West Ham respectively in their last two games they will be on a high going into the fixture.

Aston Villa V Tottenham:

Tottenham have had an amazing start to their season having only lost once in their first five premier league games and find themselves in 2nd unlike their opponents at Aston Villa who have managed three losses in their first five games and are in 13th place.

Predictions:

Swindon V Chelsea: 3-1 to Chelsea

Man City V Wigan: 2-1 to Manchester City

Fulham V Everton: 1-0 to Fulham

Aston Villa V Tottenham: 2-0 to Tottenham.
