Champions League returns

The greatest club competition in the world returns today as the first games of this season Champions League kick off at 7.45pm. The Manchester clubs, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid will all feature.

The Champions League will return to our screens this evening as the first of the group matches kick off at 7.45pm.

David Moyes will make his debut amongst Europe's elite when Bayer Leverkusen travel to Old Trafford to take on the Scotsman's Red Devils.

The blue side of Manchester also have something to get excited about as Manchester City's away game against Viktoria Plzen. The game tonight will be Manuel Pellegrini's first match as manager of City in the Europe. Many believe he is the man to bring somekind of European glory to the Sky Blues.

Other top teams featuring this evening include Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

The defending champions, Bayern take on CSKA Moscow in what will be Pep Guardiola's first game in charge of his new club in Europe.

It is the same story for Carlo Ancelotti who takes the reigns at Real Madrid. The big question on everyone's lips is whether Gareth Bale will start for his new club tonight? The Welshman scored on his debut at the weekend after coming on as a substitute.
