Four transfers that could still happen

As we edge ever closer to the final week of the summer transfer window, we take a look at four switches that still could happen before 23:00 2 September.

We are nearly at the final week of this summer's transfer window, which closes on 2 September on 11pm. All in all, bar a few, it has been a relatively unlively summer.

However with the news that Real Madrid are in advanced talks with Gareth Bale and the fact that Willian is set to be announced as a Spurs player in the coming minutes, all that might change.

Season after season we have seen how clubs wait until the final moment to make a shock offer and a player is transfered from one club to another in a heartbeat.

Below we take a look at four transfers that still could happen...

Wayne Rooney to Chelsea

This has been one of the most gripping transfer topics of the summer. Chelsea have already seen two bids knocked back by United, despite Rooney making it clear he wants to leave for London. The Blues are planning a third bid after the two teams' clash on Monday - the result of which, could be a trigger for a switch. We expect a big money offer from Chelsea on Tuesday that could be too irresistable for David Moyes' club.

Luka Modric to Manchester United

David Moyes is yet to make any big name signings this summer, despite his efforts to get Cesc Fabregas. It is known by many that Moyes has been a long-term admirer of Modric, whose time at Real Madrid has been marred with lack of form and playing opportunity. If United do eventually let Rooney go, it is essential they replace him with a top player. A move back to the Premiership for the Croatian make come as a surprise, but watch this space...

Angel Di Maria & Karim Benzema to Arsenal

After a summer of nearly-signings, many were wondering whether Wenger and the Arsenal board were intending to actually sign anyone or just playing games to keep their fans happy. But after The Gunners shock defeat against Aston Villa at the weekend, Arsenal are now desperate to bring in some top-notch quality. It has been reported that the London club are now preparing a bid for Real Madrid attacking pair Benzema and Di Maria.
