After such a momentous 2012 of footballing highs where we witnessed Chelsea's Champions League heroics and Manchester City's last minute league winning goal, one could be forgiven for thinking the footballing landscape will be rather quiet in 2013.
But you would be surprised at the array of footballing highlights happening this year. Here we take a look of the key footballing dates in the first half of 2013.
January
Africa Cup of Nations: 19 January to 10 February- The 29th Africa Cup of Nations is held in South Africa. The Final will be played at Soccer City on Sunday 10 February.
February
Capital One Cup Final: 24 February- Last season Liverpool beat Cardiff on penalties. The 54th League Cup Final will be held at Wembley on 24 February.
May
FA Cup Final: 11 May- Chelsea are the trophy holders, and will they be able retain it this season? The 132nd final will be played at Wembley on 11 May.
Final Games of Premier League 2012/13 Season: 19 May- Will this season final day be as dramatic as last seasons?
Champions League Final: 25 May- Champions Chelsea are already out. The men's final will be played at Wembley on 25 May.
Scottish Cup Final: 26 May- This year sees a break in tradition, as the Scottish Cup Final is moved to a Sunday kick-off rather than Saturday.
June
Under-21s Euros 2013: 5 to 18 June- This year sees the 19th UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship in Israel. The current holder are, unsuprisingly, Spain.
