Norwich 1 - 4 Aston Villa- Paul Lambert's Villa beat his former club comprehensively, after going one down after 19 minutes. This would have left an extra nasty taste in the Canaries faithful's mouth.

Bradford 1 - 1 Arsenal (Bradford won 3 - 2 on penalties)- Bradford City sealed a historic victory over the Premier League side, after winning their ninth penalty shootout on the bounce.

Swansea 1 - 0 Middlebrough- The Welsh wizards reached the semi-final of the League Cup for the first time in their history after Seb Hines conceded an own goal nine minutes from time.
