Man of the Match Sergio Aguero scored the first in City's 3-0 win against Chelsea yesterday.
It was Manchester City who were out of the blocks first looking faster and more match fit than their opponents. City, specifically Aguero had a number of chances all of which were saved by Begovic. But in the 31st minute Aguero was able to break through.
Over the first half City still appeared to dominate but the score-line remained 1-0. At half time in a strange substitution Mourinho took off, centre back and captain John Terry and replaced him with Zouma (later stating this was a tactical change rather than injury).
During the second half, City captain Vincent Kompany stepped up and headed in a corner (his second goal in two games) and Fernandinho was able to add City's third with a collected finish. Chelsea had some chances late on but it appeared City were the better side on the day.
Overall, two signings played their part with Sterling being influential (but still learning) in midfield and Asmir Begovic who despite the score-line made some good saves.
The result leaves Man City top of the table with Chelsea 16th, already 5 pts behind their rivals.
