As Arsenal met Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday, but it was The Gunners who managed to come out on top.
The Blues were able to hold the ball in midfield keeping 57% possession and managed to get a range of shots. However, it was Wenger's men who stepped up to the plate as they managed to have the closer chances throughout the game.
An incisive break-away by Oxlade-Chamberlin allowed Arsenal to score in the 24th minute.
Arsenal appeared to go with a switch in tactics, for the game as they were trying to counter-attack rather than keep possession. Which proved to work superbly and although their defence was broken a few times, it dealt with everything thrown at it.
New gunners signing Petr Cech (from Chelsea) was in good form during the game and looks to be a good signing going into the start of the new season next week.
The victory signals Wenger and Arsenal's first win against a Jose Mourinho Chelsea team and will set the gunners up nicely to hit the ground running.
