After months of speculation as to where Raheem Sterling will transfer to, he has officially – as of 14th July – transferred to Manchester City for, oh, just a small sum of £49 million(!!!).
Over the past few months, Raheem Sterling has become one of the most controversial football players in the world of transfers. Despite his youth and talent, his attitude towards the transfers has certainly caused a fuss amongst fans and teams. It was looking to be a long winded transfer period for Sterling – choosing between Manchester City and Chelsea who both showed interest in his availability – but Man City upped their game and offered him a contract he couldn't refuse.
Some think that Chelsea have definitely dodged a bullet here, but after Sterling scored the first goal in his debut match with Man City in just 3 minutes, they may well have missed out on a fantastic opportunity. £49m is an extreme investment, so let's hope they get their money's worth!
