Yesterday the USA met Honduras in their opening game of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Despite good play in the first half, the USA were able to overcome their opponents to win the game 2-1.
Originally the match started off with Honduras controlling the possession and moving the ball well. Which called Brad Guzan into action in the second minute and allowed Najar to have a good shot early on.
As the half progressed the USA were mounting on the pressure. Which paid off for the USA when Clint Dempsey scored an instinctive header, from the rebound after Jozy Altidore's shot was saved.
Towards the end of the first half, Najar again came close to scoring for Honduras but to no avail.
In the second half it was Clint Dempsey who again came up trumps for the USA after he scored from a well delivered Michael Bradley free kick.
Just seven minutes later Discua was able to run through the young USA defence and score his first international goal for Honduras.
The match ended 2-1 to the USA.
