During the penultimate game of the last 16 England were able to edge their way past Norway with a fantastic Lucy Bronze goal. England won the match 2-1 and now face Canada in the Quarter Finals.

In the match-up between England and Norway it was Lucy Bronze whose strike was the pick of the bunch. Sending England through to the Quarter-Finals.

During the first half Norway appeared to be the dominant force with very accurate passing, past England's defence and did create some good chances.

However, it was in the second half when Norway broke through after Gulbrandsen was able to convert a goal from a corner, after a combination of a good run to the front post and bad marking by England.

From then on England looked determined to beat their opponents and converted their own corner with a header by captain Houghton.

But it was Bronze's strike that stole the show, during the match-up when she struck the ball right into the top corner of the Norway net from well-outside the box.

The win means England progress to face hosts Canada in the Quarter Finals, while Norway leave the competition.
