WWC 2015: France vs England Match Review

The two highest ranked sides in Group F went head to head yesterday and although there was only one goal the match signalled a great performance from both sides.

France took on England in the Moncton stadium yesterday. A divided stadium in the fact that the French speaking part of Moncton supported France and the English side supported England.

France attempted to play a good passing game yesterday which England set about to disrupt. The key to France's game was Necib who England were able to render quite ineffective.

However, Le Sommer was able to get through the England defence when France stole the ball from the centre backs and she put a stunning shot in from just outside the 18 yard box.

While England did have a few good chances during the match but the combination of Georges and Renard at the back was too tough to break down for the lionesses. The match ended 1-0 to France.

While both teams will know that the toughest match of their group is probably over, the pressure is now on England to try and pull-out some results against Colombia and Mexico.
