Tonight is a special match but for one man in particular it's a very special occasion. As Pep Guardiola returns to Barcelona, where fans have fond memories of their former manager who managed a staggering 14 trophies in 4 years at the club.
However, the admiration between the ex-manager and his fans will be put to one side during the 90 minutes at the Nou Camp.
Barcelona's front three Messi, Suarez and Neymar will be of serious concern to the Bayern manager. With Boateng and Lahm expected to start at centre back to try and combat the threat.
The style of play which earned so Pep so much success at Barcelona will no doubt be used against him tonight, with Barca expected to play short passing and attempt to retain possession, while trying to control the game.
Although, when Guardiola moved to the Munich he brought in a similar style but with some slight tweaks. For example Bayern are encouraged to play some direct passes and have been known to provide a high tempo counter attack.
With the similarities in style, both possession and ball control will be highly contested throughout the match. The fact that Bayern are missing both Robben and Ribery through injury, should ease the minds of Barcelona's defence. However, they will have to remain focused as Pep knows Barcelona and if history has taught us anything Pep Guardiola will try to exploit their weaknesses to maximum effect.
