Burnley vs Chelsea Match Preview - Can Mourinho better his rivals

Tonight Mourinho's new Chelsea side take on recently promoted Burnley. Will Mourinho better rival Man City's result or will he lose like old mentor Louis Van Gaal.

This years Chelsea side have undergone some big changes over the summer. Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Didier Drogba are just some of the big names Mourinho has brought in. As well as the departures of Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, Mourinho will tonight field a new Chelsea side who he claims are ready to break teams down.

Although Burnley will try and ensure Mourinho's new signings have a much smaller impact than he wants for them. Burnley currently work with a strong defence with two wing backs to ensure they have a good counter attack.

Diego Costa will be the man most Chelsea fans will be counting on to win the match. He displayed a good attacking threat during Chelsea's last pre-season game after he scored two goals in seven minutes for the Blues. During the game he seemed to display the strength that Chelsea strikers seemed to lack since Didier Drogba left the club. With Drogba back Chelsea could utilise their strength starting the game with a 4-4-2 using both Costa and Drogba upfront.

However, with the introduction of Fabregas we expect Chelsea will go into the game using a 4-2-3-1 with Fabregas playing centre attacking mid. Using their depth in midfield Chelsea will be a force to be reckoned with. But we know that Sean Dyche's side will be no pushovers and will be hoping Sam Vokes and Danny Ings can put a few past the blues, which will give them great momentum going forward.

Our Prediction: 2-1 Chelsea. We believe Chelsea can win tonight but  won't be able to better City's 2-0 result over Newcastle.

How do you think the match will go tonight? Can Mourinho better his rivals result or will Sean Dyche pull off a huge upset tonight? Let us know on Twitter @fitforfootball or through our Facebook https://www.facebook.com/diamondfootball.
