The Football League Begins - Blackburn vs Cardiff preview

Football returns to our screens tomorrow with The Football league's first game Blackburn vs Cardiff in the Sky Bet Championship.

We've waited for what feels like ages despite the World Cup for football to come back on our screens and it's finally here! With Blackburn & Cardiff kicking off the first game of the Sky Bet Championship tomorrow at 19:45. Read our team previews below:

Blackburn:

Over the summer Blackburn have brought in a total of 5 players. Namely Luke Varney from Leeds and Alex Baptiste from Bolton Wanderers. Blackburn have lost their last two matches against Cardiff and conceded 7 goals over both games. So after warnings from previous seasons about their defence, Gary Bowyer will likely change his game plan against Cardiff to support his defenders and get even more goals from Jordan Rhodes.

Cardiff:

Cardiff have even bought more than their opposite number. They have brought in several players which include Adam Le Fondre and Federico Macheda. There has been quite a lot of upheaval throughout the summer regarding Cardiff as 16 players left the club including solid centre back Steven Caulker and striker Jordon Mutch.  As Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows he is expected by many to return to the Premier League with Cardiff next season. So he will be trying to encourage his players cohesion with each other, to ensure winning ways straight from the off.

With Blackburn likely to go for a more defensive style we expect Cardiff to counter with a quick, fast flowing game. In the past both teams haven't failed to disappoint viewers with a total of 10 goals over their last three games against each other.

Our prediction: Both teams look ready to kick off the season with a bang, so we're predicting a 2-2 draw.
