The English 2013/2014 season will kick off on Friday, as League One sides Sheffield United and Notts County go head-to-head, pleasing football fans across the country.
On the following day, Saturday 3rd July, the rest of the clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two will play their first games of the new campaign.
However English football's main attraction, the Barclay's Premier League, does not begin until Saturday 17th August when Stoke take on Liverpool at Anfield.
It has been a long break for many fans with little competitive football over the summer left to spectate - only England's shamboic display at the Under-21 European Championships. Some lucky fans have been able to catch glimpses of their team's pre-season matches, however.
The start of the season is a special occasion for any team, no matter what level they play at. Here at Diamond, we can not wait til Friday!
