General News

Monday 10 December

Fulham v Newcastle- Seeing as the home side have failed to notch in a goal in almost five hours of play and Newcastle are coming off the back of a 3 - 0 win, we could say it's a given that The Toon will take this one. But alas! In their previous 58 league meetings the team's split the win ratio pretty evenly and there has been a number of draws. We can see this one following suit, and being a pretty close contest, where just one goal could be the difference.

Tuesday 11 December

Sunderland v Reading- Both sides conceded defeats at the weekend at the hands of Chelsea and Southampton, respectively. This is going to be a crucial game in the teams' relegation battle- Reading may have some added motivation to get the victory, after they lost another relegation clash at the weekend. The two teams find themselves in a similar situation but Reading's inability to score away may be their downfall, again, in this clash.

Bradford v Arsenal- The Gunners last game against Diamond Football sponsored side, West Brom, saw the Londoner's play some really impressive football despite being lucky with the two penalties. Arsene Wenger will give his young guns another chance to shine after last week's Champions League defeat. They play League Two's Bradford in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup.

Norwich v Aston Villa- Paul Lambert claims he is 'unfazed' about his return to Norwich on Tuesday for the League Cup game. The Canaries and their former manager are in the process of suing eachother for alleged breach of contract. Both parties, however, will be hoping to prove a point on the pitch. Villa drew against Stoke at the weekend, whilst their opponents claimed an impressive 3 - 4 victory at Swansea. The momentum is definitely with the home side in this clash.

Wednesday 12 December

Swansea v Middlesbrough- After the thrilling 3 - 4 defeat against Norwich on Saturday, the Welsh side will want to get back to winning ways. However, their may be a stumbling block in the shape of Middlesbrough who they take on in the quarter-final of the League Cup. The northern club are currently sitting 3 points from automatic promotion to the Premiership, in the Championship. It may take something special from that man Michu to seperate these sides.
