Capital One Cup: Our Predictions

We select our pick of the fixtures from the upcoming League Cup Fourth Round fixtures... and try to predict the results.

Our predictions last week for the UEFA Champions League clashes did not go too well. Buy hey, that is football- predictably unpredictable.

But we look forward to the Capital One Cup today and tomorrow. So we thought we would try and redeem ourselves from last weeks terrible shouts, with a better display this week. Here are three hot tips, from us to you.

Leeds United vs Southampton (7.45pm, tonight). Both these sides' managers have recently admitted that they are looking to bring in reinforcements as soon as possible, as they watch their teams start the season not as they would have wished. Leeds have been amongst the controversy recently and this is only the second time the Yorkshire side have qualified for the fourth round in 11 years. Whilst The Saints are targetting a place in the last eight for the 10th time in 11 rounds. Saying that however, one does expect this one to be close. Prediction: Leeds United 2 - 2 Southampton.

Reading vs Arsenal (7.45pm, tonight). Arsenal are coming off the back of some unimpressive performances, whilst Reading are worryingly sitting third from bottom of the Premier League, at the moment. If past games are anything to go by, then The Gunners should breeze past their opponents- they have won all nine of their previous league and cup clashes. But Arsenal are unpredictable. Nonetheless, we can see an early goal from Reading with Arsenal coming back later in the game. Prediction: Reading 1 - 3 Arsenal.

Chelsea vs Man United (7.45, Wednesday). It is a return to Stamford Bridge for these two Premier League heavyweights. After Sunday's lively (to say the least) matchup, what can we expect from this game? We are sure there will be more controversy and, obviously, this is going to be the match that grabs all the headlines come Thurday morning. We expect another red card, another off-side goal, another Mata goal and another another Van Persie goal. But with Chelsea aimng to prove a point after feeling unfairly treated at the weekend, they get our tip. Prediction: Chelsea 3 - 2 Man United.
