Who bought best this summer?

Over the summer Premier League Clubs spent a record £835m on players but who bought the best and who bought for the sake of buying - here's our transfer analysis.

Here's our analysis of who bought best, who spent the most and who our top 5 summer transfers:

Who Bought Best:

Jose Mourinho & Chelsea - Mourinho bought three key players over the summer Diego Costa (£32m), Cesc Fabregas(£30m) and Didier Drogba (Free). So far Costa has proved he was worth the outlay and seemed to be the exact striker that Chelsea lacked last season. Fabregas looks a key addition in midfield to, as Jose put it "break down tight defences" and while Didier Drogba may have lost some of his striking ability, he provides a good height addition for when Chelsea want to defend and can help rally the team on and off the field.

Who Spent the most:

Louis Van Gaal & Man Utd - Van Gaal brought in six players through this window which include, Daley Blind (£14m), Ander Herrera (£29m), Angel Di Maria (£59.7m), Marcus Rojo (£16m) and Luke Shaw (£27.0m), Falcao (loan)

Many knew that Utd needed something big to turn around their disappointment last season and boy did they follow it through signing 6 big name players at a total cost of around £150m. Louis Van Gaal now has alot of firepower with their strikers including Rooney, Van Persie and Falcao as well as their midfield including Di Maria, Mata and Herrera. Despite the additions of Rojo, Shaw and Blind (who can play as a defender) many worry about their defence which appears to be breaking down during matches, especially with Van Gaal's favouritism towards 3 at the back.

Our Top 5 Summer Signings:

1. Diego Costa: Atletico Madrid - Chelsea

2. Alexis Sanchez: Barcelona - Arsenal

3. Eric Dier: Porto - Tottenham

4. Toby Alderweireld: Atletico Madrid - Southampton

5. Wilfred Zaha (loan): Man Utd - Crystal Palace
