Much of the Premier League's transfer news have surrounded three want-away stars, their clubs and the suitors. Yet Gareth Bale, Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez still remain at their respective clubs.
Two of the players - Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez - have been very vocal about their desire to leave North England for the South. Bale has kept a very dignified silence over his proposed move to Madrid.
Chelsea have made a £30m bid for Rooney. Arsenal are willing to pay £40m + for Suarez's service. And Bale is worth between £85m to £105m according to Real Madrid.
But, with the Premiership season kicking off this Saturday, it looks more than likely that all three will begin the season as at least squad members for Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Of course, they may not be in the starting XI - Suarez is serving a 6 match ban, whilst Rooney and Bale are "injured" - but the fact they are still at their clubs says something.
Once the season starts it may make it a lot hard for their suitors to thrash out a deal with the player's clubs before the transfer window closes. It will definitely drive up the value of the player, as clubs become desperate to improve their squad.
Whether any of these players are allowed to leave and make a switch, remains to be seen. But our betting is that nothing will happen prior to Saturday 17 August....
