It was widely reported by the football media, yesterday, that Wayne Rooney was 'angered and confused' at comments made by new Manchester United boss David Moyes.
David Moyes openly admitted that Rooney will play second fiddle to Robin van Persie next season.
The Scotsman explained to journalists in Bangkok about Rooney's future role, "...if for any reason we had an injury to Robin van Persie we are going to need [Wayne]. I want as many options as possible."
Rooney is said to have been infuriated by the comments and has expressed his disappointment to senior figures at Manchester United.
The England star believes he has nothing else to prove at the club and will not tolerate a lack of playing time.
The turmoil at Manchester United has excited many fans of rival clubs Manchester United and Chelsea, who have been linked with the player. Along with this #ThingsThatAngerAndConfuseWayneRooney was trending on Twitter.
The future of the forward remains to be seen. But after returning from United's pre-season tour early due to an 'injury' and now this, it is looking more likely than ever that Rooney will not start next season at Old Trafford.
