The greatest Tahitian goal ever

Tahiti, a team made up entirely of amateur players, scored against Nigeria in the Confederation Cup in Brazil. The moment was most probably the greatest in Tahiti's footballing history.

Tahiti scored a shock goal against Nigeria last night in the Confederation Cup, which is being held in Brazil.

The competition's underdog set off wild celebrations from both their fans and any neutrals watching the game. The scorer was Jonathan Tehau.

Tahiti's national side is made up completely of amateurs and they are ranked 138th in the world.

Despite their lowly ranking, the South Pacific side became the first nation other than Australia and New Zealand to lift the Oceania Nations Cup last June.

Although the goal could be ranked as Tahiti's greatest footballing moment, the result may not- Tahiti lost the game 6 - 1.

You can watch all the goals (including Tahiti's) in the video below.
