After all the names thrown around and talked about Manchester United have chosen Louis Van Gaal to be their new manager.
Ryan Giggs has confirmed his retirement from playing football to be Van Gaal's assistant manager. But just how did Van Gaal earn the position and what will he bring to the club?
Van Gaal has a rich history of managing with Ajax, Barcelona, Netherlands, AZ Alkmaar and Bayern Munich in his portfolio. Which resulted in the Champions League, Eredivisie (Dutch League) , La Liga(Spanish league) and Bundesliga (German League) titles.
With a history of attacking football we can expect more of this style at Manchester United, like Ferguson Van Gaal has a history of gaining a lot of points towards the end of the season. Which maybe more suited to the United players.
After blunt relationships with the press in the past it will be interesting to see what he makes of the Premier League mind games mainly from his rival at Chelsea (Jose Mourinho).
What are your thoughts on Van Gaal's appointment? Can he be the one to lead United back to the Ferguson era? Tell us your thoughts on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.
