Manchester clubs disappoint in UCL

Manchester United and their noisy neighbours in blue did not get their desired result in the Champions League game. City were beaten by Bayern Munich, whilst Moyes' men were held to a 1 - 1 draw by Shakhtar Donetsk.

After some impressive displays by Chelsea and Arsenal on Tuesday evening, English football fans were left disappointed by the two Manchester clubs in their Champions League matches.

Whilst the Red Devils were held to a 1 - 1 draw by Shakhtar Donetsk, it was Pellegrini and The Sky Blues that were left red-faced after being demolished by a dominant Bayern Munich 3 - 1 at the Etihad Arena.

Manchester United saw an 18th minute goal from Danny Welbeck cancelled out 14 minutes from full-time. They were unable to grab a late winner, but remain top of Group A with four points.

Bayern Munich proved once again that they were the dominant force in European football as they embarrased City. Not even a late goal from Negredo could distract from the all-too-blatant difference in quality between the two sides.

The results leave United in an uncomfortable situation... And City with a lot of improving to do...
