France & Germany Through To Qtr Finals

After two intense games last night, France and Germany have both made it through to the quarter finals and will be playing head to head at the Maracanã.

Germany Vs Algeria - a long game to say the least! For the first 45 minutes of this game, although neither side had scored a goal, Algeria dominated this match and it seemed as though nothing was going to go right for Germany.

When 90 minutes had passed and no goals had been made, extra time was given to allow the teams another chance to score. This is where Germany bounced back, working hard to prove their worth in the World Cup. Just 2 minutes in to the extra time, Schurrle cleverly kicks the ball past M'Bolhi and in to the net, scoring Germany's first goal. And they weren't stopping there! At 119', Ozil scored their second and final goal, not allowing Algeria much time to try and defeat them. When the game came to an end (90+1'), Algeria's Djabou gave his team one last glimmer of hope but it was just not enough and left the game at 2-1 to Germany.

France Vs Nigeria. Much like Germany and Algeria's game, there was not much point-making through the majority of the game. But, with the pressure on towards the end of the game, France made it clear that they were out there to win.

The last half an hour of the game was France's strongest, and with just 11 minutes to go (79') Pogba scored France their first goal. Enyeama, clearly effected by the adrenaline of some incredible saves, slipped just once, allowing Pogba to find the back of the net. France's second and final score of the game came from Yobo at 90+1'. It was an extremely lucky shot, but concluded the game at 2-0.

This means that Germany and France will now be playing head to head in the quarter finals, but who do you think is going to win? Let us know on our Google Plus, Facebook or our Twitter.
