Our World Cup experience so far

For us the Brazil World Cup has really impressed. With exciting games throughout each group and some surprise teams qualifying through their groups, namely Costa Rica, USA and Chile. We also have an update on our World Cup competitions.

The 2014 Brazil World Cup has been amazing so far. The matches have provided us with entertainment, joy and disappointment. Here is an update on our experience:

Surprise Teams:

Chile - Group B contained the likes of Spain, Holland and Australia. We were expecting Holland and World Cup holders Spain to go through. But with their attacking flair, Chile made it through along with Holland which sent holders Spain out of the World Cup.

Costa Rica - Costa Rica were joined by England, Uruguay and 4 time winners Italy but Costa Rica overcame the odds after they sent England and Italy out and finished on top.

USA - After being placed in the "Group of Death" we predicted that both Germany and Portugal would progress through the group respectively. The USA turned that prediction around after giving 100% during their group games, which sent them through.

Shock Exits:

Spain - As we said above Spain were the holders of the World Cup. But after lack luster performances against Holland and Chile, Spain left the World Cup. As many predicted Spain to win the competition this was the most shocking exit so far.

Italy - Many believed that once the Italians had beaten England they were sure to go on and win the group. However, they failed to win both their games against Costa Rica and Uruguay which sent them home.

England - We've seen England supporters up and down the country, hoping England would go through. But England failed to win a single game in their group meaning they were also sent home. (The positives being that England have now moved on their older squad members and given their youth players World Cup experience).

World Cup Resource Centre:

For the World Cup we have produced three World Cup resource Centres, International, England and USA. These were set up so you can keep track of the tournament and follow your team at the World Cup through up to date info and our World Cup charts, we have created one for the group stages and one for the knockout stages. Remember you can always fill these in after so you can keep your memories of the 2014 Brazil World Cup alive.

World Cup Competitions:

Dream Team - So far we have concluded two stages of our Dream Team competition with the third finishing today. We've given away a Pro-trainer football and a Club Mannequin. Knockout Stages:

The knockout stage of the World Cup, has served up some very interesting games. We predict that the top 3 games to watch will be Brazil vs Chile, Holland vs Mexico and Belgium vs USA.
